Industry Veteran Michelle Metter Celebrates 20 Years of San Diego Bay Wine & Food Festival

Michelle Metter knows a thing or two about producing world-class events. As partner and co-founder of Fast Forward, the industry veteran has also co-produced the San Diego Bay Wine + Food Festival which will celebrate 20 years in November. “Thanks to financial support from TMD to help fund our marketing efforts, we’re able to continue attracting thousands of out-of-town visitors to San Diego every year.” said Michelle.

Details of the Event

Ranked by USA Today as the #1 Wine & Food Festival in the country, San Diego Bay Wine & Food Festival spotlights the city’s burgeoning culinary tourism industry, its chefs, farmers, fisherman and attractions that make San Diego so unique.

The weeklong celebration attracts more than 11,000 wine and food enthusiasts, as well as industry tastemakers to sunny San Diego. It will feature dozens of events, hundreds of domestic and international wineries, the celebration of craft beer and spirits, local culinary legends and nationally acclaimed chefs. There will also be live entertainment with a mix of DJ’s and bands to keep the good times rolling.

What does this mean for San Diego?

The San Diego Bay Wine & Food Festival has a track record of measurable success in driving hotel room nights, which in turn helps fund many services that keep our city safe, clean and a great place to live, too.

For FY25, the TMD’s $74,500 grant is expected to help generate more than $1.8 million in room night revenue at member hotels, resulting in an ROI of 24.6:1 for every TMD dollar invested. That money will fund essential city services such as street paving, beach and park maintenance, and homeless services.

Be sure to mark your calendar for November 3- 10, 2024 to experience wine and food from around the world.
